From the winter season of 2022, Hokkaido's powder snow (Japow), considered the best in the world, awaits you!

For the past three years, Hokkaido's ski slopes have been in great shape, with plenty of powder snow every year.

Located in downtown Kutchan, and very conveniently located near supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and other amenities.
The Niseko Hirafu area is a 10-minute drive away.
From winter 2022, the park will be further expanded to include a sauna, shower facilities, laundry facilities, and a kitchen where you can cook your own meals.

This is the closest RV park to Sapporo. This RV park is located in the parking lot of the Capsule Style Hotel facing Route 5 and is roughly halfway between Sapporo and Otaru cities. It is near the Teine Ski Resort and the highway interchange, making it a convenient place to base your trip.
There are also restaurants nearby. You can use the restrooms and shower rooms in the hotel (for a fee).

It is a comfortable spot to stay in a car with unlimited access to hot springs with open-air baths during your stay.
Hostel K's House Hokkaido is located at the foot of Asahidake, Hokkaido's highest peak in Daisetsuzan National Park, where you can enjoy Hokkaido's top class powder snow in winter.
During your stay, the guest lounge and kitchen on the first floor of the hotel are available 24 hours a day. The lounge has camping chairs, tables, hammocks, and tarps. The kitchen is equipped with an induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, and basic cooking utensils, so you can bring your own ingredients for full-scale cooking.

Convenient as a spot to stay overnight in a car at Furano Ski Resort This is a spot to stay overnight in a parking lot located in a hot spring with an open-air bath from which you can view the Tokachi Mountain Range. Please pay the overnight stay fee at the reception before using the parking lot. The onsen has a large rest room and restaurant, so it is a comfortable spot to stay in your car for a meal after bathing. There is also a large supermarket next door for shopping.  There are no overnight spots at Furano ski resort or in Furano city.
If this facility is closed, you can stay in a car at the nearby roadside station in Biei.

You can stay overnight in a car in the parking lot of Hotel CABIN Obihiro, which is located in front of Obihiro Station and is available only for customers using Hokkaido Nomad Car Rental. During your stay, you can use the hotel's natural hot spring baths, sauna, and restrooms.
Vending machines and washing machines are also available. 2,800 yen per adult (from 2 persons) including breakfast.
There are many restaurants nearby.




Conditions for Staying in a Car in Winter in Hokkaido

■Places where you should not stay in a car

Convenience stores  Supermarkets  Ski resort parking lots Parking at hotels without permission is not allowed.
It will be reported to the police and you will be charged a fine.

■Camping car parking lots in central Sapporo and Otaru

Parking lots with gates at entrances and exits cannot be entered because the roofs collide with them. Park in an outdoor pay parking lot without a gate.

■Please do not park illegally!

When going to sightseeing spots or restaurants, be sure to park in a paid parking lot or in a parking lot reserved for the restaurant you are using.
Parking on the street or at convenience stores is strictly prohibited.

■Use of power supply

In winter, power is available only at RV parks and campgrounds open during winter.
You cannot recharge your batteries at the roadside station.

■Restrooms

Gas stations, RV parks, roadside stations, convenience stores, supermarkets, highway parking lots, large drugstores, etc.  You can use the restroom for free if you shop.

■Bath Shower

Every town has a day spa, so enjoy the hot springs!
Most hot spring hotels also allow you to take a bath without staying overnight.
Some of RV parks also have showers.

■Driving a Campervan on Winter Roads

Japanese campervans are heavy vehicles and short in length, so they are very slippery on snowy roads.
You cannot drive at the same speed as a normal passenger car. If you drive over the speed limit, you may slip and cause a serious accident.
Please drive within the legal speed limit.
On ordinary roads, drive at speeds of 50 km/h or less, and on highways at speeds of 80 km/h or less.
When driving on snow-covered roads, please keep a distance of 5 to 10 times the normal distance from the car in front. Do not brake or steer suddenly.
Slow down to 20 to 30 km/h or less, especially on downhill slopes and curves.

■Precautions for using your camper in winter

Do not use any water from the tap or toilet because it freezes in winter.
Doors and keyholes will ice up when the temperature drops below 10 degrees below zero, so please use a de-icing agent to melt the ice!
When it is snowing, make sure that the exhaust vent of the FF heater is not blocked by snow. Check to see if it is.

■Gas stations, convenience stores, and supermarkets

There are no gas stations outside of major towns.
They are not open at night, so refuel as soon as your fuel tank is half-full.
Supermarkets are also available only in major towns.
Convenience stores are available even in small towns.

■About Expressway

Unlimited Highway Ride ETC Card is available for foreigners (for a fee).
Please ask our staff in advance.

■Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available at some RV parks, hotels, and convenience stores.
However, it is recommended to rent a mobile Wi-Fi as it is not well maintained yet.

■Language

In Japan, almost all foreign languages, including English, are not spoken except in major hotels.
Please use your smartphone's translation function to converse in Japanese.
